Michael Kruk
Michael was born and raised in Chicago Illinois and moved to Peoria AZ in 1995. He attended Centennial High School and joined the U.S. Army in his senior year as a Wheeled Vehicle mechanic. Michael Served in the Active-duty Army from July 15 1999 and switched to the Army Reserves in September of 2014. While on Active-duty Michael was stationed in Giebelstadt Germany with 12th Aviation Brigade, Fort Huachuca AZ with 11th Signal Brigade with a deployment to Iraq for the Initial Push, Chicago Army Recruiting Battalion and finished his Active duty at Ft. Bliss TX with 1st Armored Division Old Ironsides where he deployed 2 more times to Iraq.
While Michael was in the Army Reserves, he was assigned to the 56th MP Company as a Senior Mechanic and the Suicide Prevention and Intervention Instructor. Michael Attended Grand Canyon University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in General Business. During his time at Grand Canyon University, Michael worked as a work study at the West Valley Vet Center and after graduation was hired at U.S. Vets as the Transition in Place (TIP) Coordinator where he has worked for the past 6 years assisting Veterans to overcome homelessness. Michael retired from the Army Reserves in June 2022 after 23 years of Service. Currently Michael joined The Soldiers Best Friend Team and serves as the Veteran Services and Program Coordinator
Michael and his family reside in Peoria AZ. Michael is married to his wife of 17 Years and they have 3 children. Michael is very active in the Veteran Community and sits on a few Veterans boards to include The Peoria Veterans Board, Peoria Military Affairs Committee and also is a member of the DAV, American legion, and the VFW.
