General Volunteer Services Application
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Soldier’s Best Friend! We have an array of options for volunteers, such as event set up, administrative duties, bulk mailing, building maintenance, yard work, and more! Our annual fundraising events (spring sporting clay event and fall golf tournament) rely heavily on volunteers.
At Soldier’s Best Friend, we acknowledge the significant contribution of volunteers within the nonprofit sector. Their involvement not only reinforces community ties but also provides essential services and addresses unmet needs through the generous donation of their time and skills. To promote fairness and mitigate the risk of volunteer burnout, SBF has implemented a policy that limits the total number of hours a volunteer may contribute to a maximum of 10 hours per week. This measure ensures that volunteers enhance the efforts of, rather than substitute for, our paid staff. In certain circumstances, such as in advance of major events or periods of increased workload, exceptions to this policy may be permitted. Such exceptions require prior approval from either the Program Manager, Development Manager, or Executive Director.
We appreciate your interest in Soldier’s Best Friend and its mission of Touching 2 Lives at Once.
* We like to make potential volunteers aware that there are not opportunities working with the dogs, unless you want to become a foster. If you are interested in fostering a dog, please fill out our foster application.
