Lenny & Adam
Thank you for such a wonderful journey with Soldiers Best Friend. Calvin and the staff were such a help getting Adam and I all the necessities we needed to make it through the program. I also want to thank all the donors who contributed to the journey. Without their support I would have not been able to afford this type of specialized service dog training. I must say I have really enjoyed this experience. I also want to commend Joanne Napier, my trainer for her professionalism, knowledge, self sacrifice, support and her unwavering allegiance to Soldiers Best Friend and her students. Without her commitment to seeing Adam and I through some really trying times, I don't think I would have stayed in the program. She not only went up and beyond to train her group of students but she bonded us together as a family. I am from Hawaii and we have no family in Arizona. Joanne, her husband Barry, my fellow students and Soldiers Best Friend (SBF) are now part of our extended family. When I look back on my journey with SBF there are three things that really stand out. One, they go by the letter of the law but yet they incorporate the spirit of the law. What does this mean? It means they have specific rules but they are willing adjust those rules to make things reasonable for the students. Second, I totally enjoyed the airport outing in Phoenix. It was conducted so professionally between SBF and Southwest Airlines. What a remarkable time Adam and I had. Third, my wife gave me a compliment at the completion of our training session. She told me that I have really changed. When I asked what she meant, she told me that my attitude, temper, and total demeanor (behavior) have changed. I accredit this to SBF, Adam, Joanne, Barry, Crystal ( the evaluator for the PAT testing) and my fellow student.
