Michael Montemayor

Michael, a Bronze Star medal recipient, is SBF’s Veteran Services Specialist and a service dog trainer.  He was born in the Philippines but raised in California.  After 9/11, Michael joined the United States Marine Corps as a machine gunner in the infantry.  He also spent time in the Army Reserve as a combat medic.  Michael did three combat tours in Iraq and was medically retired after ten years of services due to TBI and PTS.  For numerous years Michael lived with the adverse side effects from the medications he was on, when he decided to seek alternative forms of therapy.  In 2015 he was paired with a service dog and by 2018 he was able to go off all medications.
